It looks as if Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni regarded by many in the West as a tough but well-intentioned African leader-- is behaving more and more like a typical strong man. At the minimum, theres a lot of political infighting going on in Kampala. Museveni defeated Kizza Besigye in the March presidential elections. Since then Besigye has claimed he has been harassed by Museveni. Now, Besigyes wife, Winnie Byanyima (who is a member of Ugandas parliament), has been accused of sedition by the Museveni government. Byanyima got on TV in Kenya and alleged that Museveni is helping train Hutu Interahamwe guerrillas to fight Rwandas Tutsi president (and former Museveni ally) Paul Kagame.
