General Morgan, one of the two dozen major warlord leaders in the country, has fled the scene of a battle in the southern port of Kismayo, where his men were defeated by a larger force from the Jubba Valley Alliance. Some 800 armed men were involved in three days of fighting, which left at least 30 dead. Morgan has been trying to seize control of the port for years, and briefly held it in 2001. Morgan is the most powerful warlord to oppose the newly formed government.
