It was feared that there would be a suicide attack on the 35th anniversary of the 1967 Six Day War that saw Israel capture the West Bank Palestinian areas. Meanwhile, the army is holding off on going into Gaza. Fearing high Israeli and civilian casualties, that would not be popular domestically and internationally (respectively), there is also the fact that Gaza is isolated from Israel. The West Bank is another matter, being impossible to completely isolate from Israel. But Israel will try, by dividing the West Bank up into areas, some of which can be better isolated from Israel.
