Coalition forces have spent $8 million so far in setting up the air base in Manas, Kyrgyztan. Some 1,500 troops from Australia, Denmark, France, South
Korea, Spain and the United States are working at the base, and the government is willing to allow up to 5,000 foreigners there. Air refueling aircraft and transports are operating out of the base. In addition to the French aircraft, F-18s are expected shortly.
