 The government says it will release the last 800 Pakistani Taliban fighters it is holding prisoner. Most of these men have not lost their enthusiasm for the Taliban cause. Many Afghans would prefer just to kill these "foreigners", but are restrained by the possible loss of foreign aid. Hundreds of these prisoners have already died from from poor treatment. Traditionally, Afghans tend to be quite brutal towards foreign prisoners of war.
