The Navy is seeking money for the Joint Supersonic Cruise Missile. This would have a range of 900 kilometers while traveling faster than Mach-3. The missile could be launched by F-18s or F-35s or from the vertical launch tubes of warships. It would be used primarily to destroyed air defense sites (opening the door for manned attack aircraft) and important but heavily defended targets.--Stephen V Cole
