The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has conducted a key ground test of a new scramjet engine designed to power a strategic stealth cruise missile that would fly at Mach-6.5 at 90,000 feet. The engine will not fly (and then only at Mach 4) until 2004.--Stephen V Cole
