The commander of Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa admittted that his group had been in a more aggressive posture for over a month. 
The most recent indicator that things may heat up in the near future was Brigadier General Robeson's "operational need" for small numbers of fighter planes, since he told CNN that there had been a "pretty active flow" of terrorists into and through the Horn of Africa and mentioned "selective actions". Robeson also mentioned the threat posed by the Boeing 727 stolen from Luanda's airport in late May, admitting that they believed that Camp Lemonier could be one of the plane's targets.

An Air Force assessment team recently spent two days at Camp Lemonier, determining what sort of ramp space, fuel and ordnance storage F-16, F-15E and F/A-18s. The planes would be deployed for short periods in the Horn of Africa theater, operating out of Camp Lemonier on a routine but temporary basis. - Adam Geibel
