Recent terrorism alerts in Saudi Arabia have caused consternation and anger among foreigners there, particularly Americans. The Saudi government has been uncooperative in passing along information about terrorist threats, and the U.S. State Department refuses to give out frequent updates on the terrorist situation to American citizens. Recent warnings have indicated a serious threat to foreigners, and non-essential diplomatic personnel have been sent out of the country. Foreigners experience hostile acts daily, acts which could easily escalate to lethal attacks. Saudi Arabia harbors many terrorist supporters, but the government comes down hard only when someone commits terrorist acts in the country. The rest of the time, the terrorist wannabes can keep talking, or preaching, and there is no effort to round up illegal weapons.
