Russia's Interior Ministry (roughly equivalent to a Federal Police force, if America had one) has taken another 30 special-purpose facilities, 51 public buildings, 28 kindergartens and schools and 34 hospitals under their control in the past two weeks. This is part of an effort to prevent further terrorist events like the Moscow theater. They are responsible for security measures at over 400,000 facilities across Russia, including 26,000 apartment building entrances (which provides protection for 950,000 apartments). Another 1.3 million separate apartments are also under our control. The Interior Ministry uses 35,000 people and more than 1,000 trained dogs for these security missions. - Adam Geibel
