One of the 13 suspected terrorists arrested in Jordan last December was Khalil Deek, a naturalized US Citizen originally born in the occupied West Bank. Deek is a veteran of the US armed forces, and did computer work in California before being arrested on a trip to Jordan. Deek traveled to Pakistan, and perhaps to Afghanistan, in 1997, but insisted that this was merely to record the writings of a revered Moslem cleric on a CD-ROM. Jordanian police, however, said that a CD-ROM found in his possession when he was arrested contained elaborate bomb-making instructions. Deek admitted that while in Pakistan he had a joint bank account with Abu Zubaydah, thought by US intelligence to be Osama bin Laden's "chief executive officer".
