Over 20,000 civilians in the north have fled their homes because of an increase of LRA raids. The LRA, pursued for the last two months by army patrols, have dispersed into smaller units and are foraging for food. The LRA used to have camps in southern Sudan, where the rebels, aided by kidnapped Ugandan civilians, grew their own food. But the Sudanese army has shut down these camps, and allowed Ugandan army units to pursue LRA fighting into southern Sudan.
