More on Sudanese and Ugandan cooperation against the LRA. Well, sort of. On January 9 Sudan asked Uganda to stop letting the SPLA operate on Ugandan territory. This request comes as a response to increasing Ugandan suspicions that Sudan continues to back the LRA. The Sudanese statement implied the SPLA is operating out of Uganda and is importing arms into the south Sudan through Uganda. Despite the rhetorical battles, Uganda has appointed a new ambassador to Sudan. On January 7 full diplomatic ties were restored between Uganda and Sudan.
