In southern Sudan, where there is a peace deal between the local rebels and the government, there are still 17,000 teenagers, and younger children, under arms and serving with the rebels. Since 2001, some 20,000 of these kids have been demobilized. The southern rebels are not in a big rush to completely demobilize, as they don't trust the government a whole lot. This is particularly the case since, while the government has agreed to peace terms, they keep putting off actually signing the treaty.
