We can't decide if this is Sudan government propaganda or is in fact a rebel (SPLA) demand. However, it's worth mentioning because it illustrates how Sudan's long-running ethnic and religious war is now an oil war. A couple of sources claim the SPLA is demanding 60 percent of Sudan's revenues from oil. One source reported that this is a demand for the duration of the peace talks. It makes more sense as part of a permanent political settlement to end the war, ie, a fair division of oil revenues. Most of Sudan's oil production lies in contested or secessionist regions.
