Several sources report a successful SPLA attack in the Farink-Higlieg region (an oil area). On November 20, SPLA troops ambushed a Sudanese government convoy and killed around 100 Sudanese government troops. The government forces had two helicopters supporting the convoy, but SPLA fire drove the helicopters away. One report said both government helicopters were struck by rebel fire.
