: The SPLA claimed its forces have taken control of five towns in Blue Nile province. The SPLA listed the following towns: Dendro, Karo-Yara, Adsi, Dim-Saad, and Kilo. The SPLA also claimed its troops killed 70 government (Khartoum) soldiers in a firefight on April 13 near Al-Damazeen. Another 187 government soldiers died in a battle on April 16 in Kurmuk. There was no independent confirmation of the casualty claims.
