The Egyptian government says it will consider deploying troops to the Ugandan-Sudanese border to help facilitate peace. The Egyptian troops would deploy on the Ugandan side of the border. The Egyptians would monitor Sudanese rebel activities an Ugandan rebel activities - in Uganda, specifically the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA). The Sudanese government in Khartoum claims that Uganda backs the SPLA. The LRA is backed by the Sudanese government.
