In the last eight weeks, increased violence by LTTE rebels has left over a hundred dead. Increased army activity in the face of LTTE attacks has caused some civilians to flee to areas where the LTTE have bases (usually bunker complexes out in the bush). The increased army patrols have revealed additional ambushes being prepared. Truce monitors believe that the war is slowly coming back. The LTTE insists it is doing nothing, but is in fact restarting the war slowly and deliberately.
