The LTTE refused a government offer to hold peace talks at the international airport, insisting that the talks be held outside Sri Lanka. At the same time, LTTE is arresting police that try to come into areas controlled by the LTTE. Three police have been held all weekend, after being taken at gunpoint, as the police tried to investigate a child abuse complaint. Meanwhile, there's a growing split in the government, with one faction refusing to offer the LTTE many concessions at all.
September 10, 2005: Soldiers halted newsprint shipments to LTTE controlled areas, in an attempt to halt publication of pro-LTTE newspapers. Tamil members of the
