The ceasefire monitors told the LTTE that they must allow an inspection of an airfield in the north. The government insists that the airfield, and rebel aircraft operating from it, violates the ceasefire. The ceasefire monitors agree, but want to inspect the airfield first, something the LTTE refuses to allow. This airfield dispute, plus the growing violence in eastern Sri Lanka, makes it more likely that the war will resume.
