Ceasefire monitors have received 196 complaints, but only 58 have been verified. None of the violations were considered serious. The largest number (30) of verified violations were in eastern Sri Lanka, a majority Tamil area that has usually been under government control (with lots of rebel activity.) The complaints involve Tamil civilians being harassed to support the rebels, or rebels taking teenagers to serve in the rebel ranks.
