The rebels made a bold attack on the airport (the country's only international air connection) outside the capital overnight. The air force flies most of their warplanes and helicopters out this facility. The attack was against the military aircraft, with at least six warplanes and two helicopters reported damaged or destroyed. At least five AirBus transports were destroyed or damaged. The attacking rebels were apparently suicide troops, as at least eight of them were killed, as well as five police or civilians. The rebels have been taking a beating in the last year from the expanding air force.
