Eleven LTTE guerillas were killed in two separate actions in the north.
October 29; Intense fighting in north around the recently captured LTTE village of Ampakama and the Elephant Pass killed nearly 60 LTTE guerillas and government troops. Most of the dead were LTTE. A larger number of guerillas and troops were wounded.
October 28; Government troops fought the LTTE around the village of Ampakama, resulting in four dead soldiers and 17 wounded. At least ten LTTE fighters were killed, as were several police and civilians in other incidents.
October 26; Government troops fought the LTTE around the village of Ampakama, resulting in ten LTTE guerillas and eight soldiers killed. In other incidents, three LTTE rebels and eight soldiers were killed.
October 23; LTTE rebels attacked a coastal police station, arriving in a flotilla of boats. However, nearby navy gunboats intervened, and a helicopter gunship soon arrived, repulsing the attack and sinking at least two LTTE boats.
October 22; In two separate incidents, eleven LTTE guerillas were killed in the north.
