FDD rebels struck Burundian villages near the Tanzanian border (Cankuzo province). Burundian government sources reported nine civilians were slain the the attacks. A subsequent report said a large number of FDD guerrillas were in an area near the village of Gisagara (which is near the Tanzanian border). These FDD groups have camps inside Tanzania.
