Ten people were injured when a hand grenade was tossed into a Bujumburan bar. While police initially thought it might be a rebel attack, subsequent reports said that it may have been violence associated with a group of youths trying to settle scores. Similar events have occurred in other nations experiencing civil war (Beirut, Chechnya, Somalia, even Guatemala). With the proliferation of automatic weapons and explosives, youth gangs have access to heavy firepower. Instead of switchblades, the punks use RPGs.
