Hutu rebels in Burundi launched a series of attacks this past week. Attacks were conducted in the south (Makamba province) and in the northwest (Bubanza). There were also incidents outside the capital of Bujumbura. These attacks may well be political demonstrations, rather than attacks directed at the Burundian Army.. New peace talks, led by Nelson Mandela, are to take place at the end of April.
