In an effort to counter the growth of hostile attitudes towards the military, the armed forces will introduce their own television channel early next year. The "Star TV" channel will have 18 hours a day of military related programming.

Russia and NATO have agreed to allow the stationing of military equipment on each others territory. This was done to deal with the fact that there are still some Russian bases in the Baltic States, which have just joined NATO. Because of NATO operations in Afghanistan, there are situation where NATO military equipment might be stored in Russian territory.
