A bomb went off in a crowded Moscow subway car, killing 39 and wounding over a hundred. Chechen rebels were suspected, as they had carried out attacks like this in the past. There have been eight of these bombing attacks in the last sixteen months. But this time, no Chechen group took credit, and most of them denied responsibility. But these denials are a common tactic for terrorist groups. If the death toll is too high, deny it. But everyone will be terrorized all the more, and that's the point of terrorist attacks. The subway attack caused the government to vow to find and punish those responsible. The Chechen rebels have said they would bring the war to the Russians with bombing attacks.
