 Russian troops found four dead Chechen rebels near a Dagestani village as they swept the area searching for rebels. Dagestan is adjacent to Chechnya, and frequent raids by Chechen gangs into Dagestan were one of the causes of the Russian invasion of Chechnya. The rebels in Dagestan have apparently moved on to Georgia, losing at least half a dozen dead. This kind of raiding has been going on for centuries.
