Tribal warfare is getting worse in Kenya. A large and well organized raid on migrating Boran tribesmen killed thirty and wounded many more. Some 400 Samburu tribesmen gathered for the operation, and are now being pursued by police and army troops. The police are generally unwilling to take on the heavily armed tribesmen. There are more and more AK-47 assault rifles and other weapons available to the tribesmen and raids for cattle are getting deadlier. Sometimes local police will get involved, "renting" their weapons to the raiders for a share of the booty. Ethiopian and Somali raiders also get involved at times, as they have for centuries.
