Over the last week, The American, Australian, British, Canadian and
Japanese embassies warned their citizens to be careful in the southern
Philippines, because of the danger of attacks by Islamic terrorists. The
government believes that factions of the MILF are becoming more active in their
support of Islamic radicals.

11, 2006: Three bombs went off in the south, yesterday and today, killing seven
and wounding 30. These were believed in response to continued operations on
Jolo, against Abu Sayyaf and other Islamic terrorist groups there. On Jolo
island, troops clashed with Abu Sayyaf, leaving two soldiers, and several
rebels, dead.

8, 2006: NPA attacked a construction site, for a new airport, and destroyed
construction equipment. The NPA men were disguised as policemen, and were thus
able to disarm the security force at the site. This attack is believed to be
part of an NPA extortion effort against the construction company.

7, 2006: MILF leaders admitted that some of the organizations members had links
to Islamic terrorists. The MILF is now conducting an investigation of members
suspected of terrorist activity.

6, 2006: On Jolo, police have arrested the wife of a major Indonesian Islamic
terrorist.
