A third suspect in the February 14 bombing, Gappal Bannah, surrendered to police. Bannah supplied the explosives, and admitted that he had gone through a three month course in bomb making last Summer. The course was conducted by Jemaah Islamiyah members, in a mountain camp in the southern Philippines. Bannah has been an Abu Sayyaf member for two years. 

Also in the south, MILF rebels assisted  members of the Pentagon kidnapping gangs make a retaliation attack on an army camp in southern Philippines. A rocket grenade was fired at the army camp, but hit a civilian area, wounding seven civilians. The Pentagon gang is largely composed of former MILF rebels who want to get rich via kidnapping. The army had recently killed five members of the Pentagon gang.
