In the south, police captured Abu Sayyaf member, Aminula Jimlani. He had a $17,800 reward on his head for be part of the group that kidnapped twenty people (including three Americans) in 2001. Jimlani also participated in a 1994 massacre of civilians, that left 54 dead. Police have been relentless in identifying and hunting down members of Abu Sayyaf gangs, with cash rewards offered for the leaders.
