Al Qaeda affiliate Jemaah Islamiah is believed to have a terrorist training camp in the southern island of Mindanao, deep in the central mountains. Moslem rebels of the MILF are believed to be providing assistance and protection for the camp, but the army has been unable to locate this camp. So later this month, twenty American Special Forces troops will work with a company (156 soldiers) on counter-insurgency tactics and techniques, in the jungles of the southern Philippines, in areas where the MILF is active.
