The government has convinced the MILF that the Moslems of the southern Philippines, and those living as a minority throughout the country, face hard times if the MILF does not drop support for Islamic radicals. Apparently the MILF is doing that, forcing members of Jemaah Islamiah (the regional affiliate of al Qaeda) to move to Indonesia and Malaysia. Abu Sayyaf, which has committed a number of terrorist bombings, is considered a bunch of bandits who dabble in Islamic radicalism from time to time.
