The government has been putting pressure on the MILF to get the rebels to help round up the various rogue MILF kidnapping gangs. These groups have been grabbing foreigners (Chinese and an Italian priest) which is causing the government a lot of trouble diplomatically. The MILF wants to help, as if these rogue groups are successful, they encourage more MILF members to do the same thing.
