On Basilan, Abu Sayyaf killed a farmer who came across their camp while searching for a missing animal. The army says it will withdraw some of its forces from the south once the MILF starts its ceasefire. The government has also offered to negotiate true autonomy for their Moslem regions in the south. The government has sent warships to keep Chinese fishing boats away from disputed islands in the South China Sea.
