Thanks to recent kidnappings, British underwriters have classified Nigeria as a War Zone. The implication of the notice for cancellation is that ships sailing to Nigeria would pay higher premium to get cover from underwriters. Local marine underwriters said it was not right to classify the whole country as a war-prone zone, suggesting that the area in question should be defined by latitude and longitude. - Adam Geibel
