National elections for August 10th were called off by the courts after some parties protested that there was not enough time for them to complete their preparations. The three large parties that formed when the dictatorship fell and elections were held in 1999, have been accused of being corrupt, and smaller, anti-corruption parties want a chance to campaign and get their message out.
