Just as 200 US Army Green Berets began teaching peacekeeping to the Nigerian Army, special troops loyal to Chief of Staff Victor Malu showed up, ordered them to stop, and began checking the records of the Nigerian troops for past human rights abuses. General Malu opposes the program for US troops to teach his troops peacekeeping, despite the fact that Nigerian President Olusegum Obasanjo started the program and requested US troops to teach it.--Stephen V Cole
