The army released an audio tape is captured from Maoists. In the tape, the senior Maoist leader said he had been pressured by the Indian government to reconcile with more moderate Maoist leaders who had been purged, recently, from the Maoist movement. India denied any contact with the Maoists.
Although India said it would resume supplying Nepal with bullets, and other military equipment, the resumption of shipments has not begun. Leftist politicians in India are against supplying Nepal, and many other Indian politicians support this position because they oppose the Nepalese kings seizure of power from the elected government. However, India does not want to see the Nepalese take control, or cause more damage to Nepal. This might cause a flood of refugees into India, which would not be very popular politically either.
