In the last two days, the army killed some 560 rebels when two rebel training camps were attacked. Deep in a jungle area, 400 kilometers west of the capital, the rebels had set up facilities for training and housing armed rebels. Apparently some 800 rebels were in the camps when the army hit. The army also seized large food supplies, plus weapons and ammunition. This operation is a major blow to the rebels, as these camps were essential for indoctrinating and training new recruits. The operation also shows that the army is able to find and attack the most well hidden and guarded rebel bases.
