United Nations Peacekeepers sent reinforcements to Buchanan, Liberia's second city still controlled by MODEL rebels, to stop a chaotic rebel looting spree, and at least one civilian died. A helicopter gunship was deployed from Monrovia to control the outbreak and there are now over 800 peacekeepers in the city. The trouble began after a rebel fighter tried to take food from a local civilian, who resisted and was subsequently beaten. - Adam Geibel
