 Work has been suspended, by South Korean firms, on the building of two nuclear reactors in North Korea. This project was part of the 1994 disarmament deal with North Korea, which came apart when the north admitted that it was still developing nuclear weapons. Work began in 1998 and was to be finished by 2003, but North Korea constantly interfered with and delayed construction efforts.
