Officials from North and South Korea met in the south to discuss the current crises. The north is being offered the same deal it got in 1994, and later broke. Any new deal would involved inspections as well as the economic and humanitarian aid the North Korea had been getting. The North Korean officials said they had no intention of producing nuclear weapons. This was not helpful, as the main purpose of the meeting was to discuss shutting down North Korea's very real nuclear weapons program.
