The debate continues in the South Korean legislature over accusations that the government willfully ignored military intelligence warnings of hostile acts by the North Korean military. Military intelligence officers insist that they have continually informed the politicians of the hostile factions in the North Korean government (particularly in the military). South Korean officers insist that South Korean politicians, intent on making peace deals with the less violent factions in North Korea, want reports about the North Korean hard liners kept quiet. This problem is now being brought out in the South Korean legislature via sworn testimony.
