The Red Army Faction was a violent group of radical Japanese terrorists that flourished in the 1960s and 70s. Most of them took refuge in North Korea, although the North Koreans always denied it. Members of the group, or wives, have been sneaking back to Japan recently, and some have been caught and arrested. Interrogation of these people revealed that Red Army Faction members were involved in kidnapping Japanese civilians and organizing or carrying out other terrorist tasks for North Korea.  These admissions have caused anger in South Korea, as even more South Koreans appear to have been kidnapped over the last few decades by North Korean agents. The North has admitted none of this so far.
