A humanitarian aid worker who recently returned to Abidjan from a visit to the 'Wild West' claimed that while the December-March cocoa harvest was in full swing, fighting to control of the cocoa plantations was heating up. Lebanese cocoa buyers from Liberia were stocking up on cut-price beans in both the government and rebel-held sectors for smuggling to nearby Guinea. - Adam Geibel
