Israelis opposed to the evacuation of the Israeli settlements in Gaza have moved thousands of protestors to Gaza. Their intention is to disrupt, and possibly prevent, the evacuation. More Israeli police and troops have been moved to Gaza to deal with the situation. The government fears a public relations disaster when there are numerous clashes between the protestors and security forces.
In Egypt, police believe that foreign terrorists were responsible, or at least involved, in the bombings at Sharm el Sheik.
